Get access to the switches (installed on the inside of the wing leading edge) through the lower access panels forward of the wing front spar and then through the lightening holes in the nose beam of the wing fixed leading edge or through the slot in the 65C26219 panel at station 277.33 (SB 27-1174).
(c)
Remove the bolts and washers from the slat up switch.
(d)
Remove the slat up switch.

Procedure

(1)
Install the slat up switch:
(a)
Put the slat up switch in its position.
NOTE: Apply BMS 5-95 sealant between bracket and cove panel
____ and between bracket and switch (SOPM 20-50-12).
(b) Install the nuts and washers on the slat up switch.
NOTE: You can install zero to three washers between the switch
____ and the support to prevent contact between the switch and the inner skin panel of the leading edge.
(c)
Tighten the nuts to 25-30 pound-inches.
(d)
Install the wires to the switch.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker:

P6 Circuit Breaker Panel
1) MASTER DIM INDICATOR SECT 6

Pressurize hydraulic system B (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent.
(a)
Make sure the amber TRANSIT lights on the leading edge annunciator panel come on while the slats extend.
(b)
Make sure the amber TRANSIT lights go out when the slats are extended.

(c) Make sure the green EXT lights come on when the slats are extended.
(5) S 864-004Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent. (a) Make sure the TRANSIT annunciator lights come on while the slats retract. (b) Make sure all the lights on the annunciator panel go out when the slats are fully retracted.
(6) S 864-003Release pressure from hydraulic system B (Ref 27-81-00/201).
(7) S 424-021Install the lower wing access panels and apply BMS 5-95 sealant on faying surfaces (SOPM 20-50-12).
