Install the leading edge slat:
(a)
With the main tracks installed on the leading edge slat, install the main tracks between the roller ribs in the fixed leading edge.

(b) (c) (d) While you manually move the slat up, install the thermal anti-icing spray tube (if it is necessary) and the telescoping duct in the slat (AMM 30-11-31/401).Make sure the guide/stop clearance is 0.19 |0.01 inch (View E-E, Fig. 401).If the clearance is not in the specified limit, use shim as
(e) (f) (g) (h) (i) (j) necessary.Install the auxiliary track arms through the cutouts in the fixed leading edge.Align the the auxiliary track arms with the auxiliary tracks.Attach the auxiliary track arms to the auxiliary rollers in the auxiliary tracks with the bolt head points to the detent arm.Tighten the bolts to 160-240 pound-inches.Make sure the slat actuator is in the retracted position.Move the slat up until the downstop bolt hole aligns with the hole in the support rib.
NOTE:____ AIRPLANES WITH THE THREE-WAY ADJUSTABLE DOWNSTOP; The downstops have three flat stop surfaces. Set the downstops at their intermediate height (nominal) position.
(k) (l) AIRPLANES WITHOUT THE THREE-WAY ADJUSTABLE DOWNSTOP; Install the downstop bolts: 1) Hold the bolthead while you tighten the nut to a maximum of 50 pound-inches.AIRPLANES WITH THE THREE-WAY ADJUSTABLE DOWNSTOPS; Install the downstop bolts (View E-E, Fig. 401): 1) Install stop locator on the main track side adjacent to the bolthead.
NOTE:____ Make sure you install the locator with its lip pointing away from the bolthead, and with lip of locator hanging over the aft end of the main track.
2) Apply locking compound sealer to the downstop bolt threads before nut installation.
NOTE:____ Apply locking compound sealer to the bolt threads of the main track down-stops before you install the nut and after you adjust the downstops in AMM 27-81-00/501, "Adjust the Leading Edge Slats (for airplanes with spring loaded seals)".
