 (a)  
Make sure that each flap and slat is in the up position and aligned with the wing structure.

 (b)  
Make sure that all the leading edge flap lights on the center panel and the aft overhead annunciator panel are off.

 (c)  
Push the test switch below the leading edge devices annunciator on the aft overhead panel.

 (d)  
Make sure that all the lights come on (10 amber and 16 green lights).

 (e)  
Release the test switch for the leading edge devices
 annunciator.


 (f)  
Make sure all the lights go off.

 (2)  
Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent.

 (a)  
When the trailing edge flaps start to extend, make sure the amber LE FLAPS TRANSIT light, on the forward panel, comes on.

 (b)  
When each leading edge flap and slat starts to extend, make sure the related amber lights on the overhead annunciator come on (10 amber).

 (c)  
Do these checks when the leading edge slats are extended to the intermediate position: 1) Make sure the slat TRANSIT lights go off. 2) Make sure the slat EXT green lights come on.

 (d)  
Do these checks when the leading edge flaps are fully extended: 1) Make sure the annunciator TRANSIT lights go off. 2) Make sure the flap FULL EXT green lights come on.

 (e)  
Do these checks when the flap and slat green lights are all on: 1) Make sure the LE FLAPS TRANSIT light goes off. 2) Make sure the LE FLAPS EXT light comes on.

 (f)  
AIRPLANES WITH POSITION INDICATION MODULE WITHOUT THE BUILT-IN-TEST-EQUIPMENT (BITE); Do a test of each proximity sensor, to make sure it is correctly connected. 1) Put a copper shield between the sensor face the actuating


 bar of the extend sensor for each flap and slat. 2) Make sure the correct green light goes off and the amber light comes on with the copper shield in its position. 3) Make sure the lights show EXT when you remove the copper shield.

 (3)  
Move the flap control lever to the 5-unit detent.

 (a)  
Make sure there is no change in the positions of the leading edge devices or the indicator lights.

 (4)  
Move the flap control lever to the 10-unit detent.

 (a)  
While the trailing edge flaps move to the 10-unit position, make sure the LE FLAPS EXT green light stays on.

 (b)  
Do these checks while slats 1 thru 6 start to extend: 1) Make sure the correct slat EXT green lights go off.

 2) Make sure the slat TRANSIT amber lights come on.
 (c)  
Do these checks when the slats are fully extended: 1) Make sure the slat TRANSIT lights go off. 2) Make sure the slat EXT green lights come on.

 (d)  
Do these checks when the annunciator green lights are all on: 1) Make sure the LE FLAPS TRANSIT light goes off. 2) Make sure the LE FLAPS EXT light comes on.

Move the flap control lever to the 40-unit detent.

 (6)  
Move the flap control lever to the 10-unit detent.

Make sure there is no change in the positions of the leading edge devices or the indicator lights.

Put the flap control lever to the 5-unit detent.

 (a)  
When the slats retract to the intermediate position, make sure the EXT green lights come on.

Put the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent.
