Procedure
S 424-009
(1)
Install the seal door:
(a)
Install the torsion springs. 1) Install the bolt, tube, spacer, spring, washer and nut. 2) Tighten the nut with your fingers. 3) Install the cotter pin.
(b)
Move the seal door in the seal guide and spacer.
(c)
Put the straps through the channel and on the seal door.
CAUTION:_______BEND THE TORSION SPRINGS CAREFULLY. YOU CAN DAMAGE THE TORSION SPRINGS.
(d)
Install each spring through the hole in the seal door.
(e)
Make sure there is a 0.10 inch minimum overlap between the top of the skin cutout and the top edge of the seal door.
NOTE: The seal doors must move freely.

1) If it is necessary, put the seal door straps in the adjustment slots to get a 0.10 inch minimum overlap.
E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

(1) Install the access panels.

WARNING: CAREFULLY REMOVE THE LEADING EDGE SLAT ACTUATOR LOCKOUT SET.
_______ THE LEADING EDGE SLATS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2)
Remove the leading edge slat actuator lockout set from the actuators of the leading edge slats (Ref 27-81-00/201).
(3)
Pressurize hydraulic system B (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Put the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent to retract the flaps and slats.
