LEADING EDGE FLAP AND SLAT CONTROL VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the leading edge flap and slat control valve (referrred to as the control valve).
B. The leading edge flap and slat control valve is attached to the flap control unit forward of the trailing edge flap control valve.

Prepare for the Removal

Pressurize hydraulic system B (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Put the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent.

Release the pressure from hydraulic system B (Ref 27-81-00/201).

Remove the lower pan from the flap control unit.

Install the rig pin F-1 through the follower arm and valve cam (Fig. 401).

Remove the Leading Edge Flap and Slat Control Valve

Remove the control valve (Fig. 401):
(a)
Disconnect the rod end from the link assembly (Fig. 401).
CAUTION:_______DO NOT LET HYDRAULIC FLUID GET ON EQUIPMENT. IF HYDRAULIC FLUID GETS ON EQUIPMENT, IMMEDIATELY CLEAN IT FROM THE EQUIPMENT. HYDRAULIC FLUID CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(b)
Put a container below the control valve to catch the hydraulic fluid.
(c)
Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the control valve.
(d)
Install caps on all ports and plugs in the hydraulic lines.
