Move the flap control lever to the 5-unit detent.

 (a)  
Make sure that the LE FLAPS EXT light (center instrument panel) and the FLAPS EXT and SLATS 1 thru 6 EXT lights (LE devices annunciator panel) are on.

 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT THE AOA SENSORS ARE COOL BEFORE YOU TOUCH THEM.
_______ THE AOA SENSORS CAN BE SUFFICIENTLY HOT TO BURN YOU.
 (2)  
Do a test of the No. 1 autoslat computer operation:

 (a)  
Rotate the left AOA sensor counterclockwise and the right AOA sensor counterclockwise to the stops.

 (b)  
Push and hold the GROUND SENSING test switch (E-11 landing gear logic shelf). 1) Make sure that the LE slats move to the full extend

 position. 2) Make sure that the LE FLAPS EXT light goes off. 3) Make sure that the LE FLAPS TRANSIT light comes on.

 (c)  
Push and hold the NOSE SENSING and AIR SENSING test switches (E-11 shelf). 1) Make sure that the LE FLAPS TRANSIT light goes off. 2) Make sure that the LE FLAPS EXT light comes on.

 (d)  
Release the GROUND SENSING, AIR SENSING and NOSE SENSING test switches. 1) Make sure that the slats move to the (intermediate) extend


 position. 2) Make sure that the LE FLAPS EXT light stays on.

 (3)  
Do a test of the No. 2 autoslat system operation:

 (a)  
Turn the left AOA sensor clockwise and the right AOA sensor clockwise to the stops.

 (b)  
Push and hold the GROUND SENSING test switch (E-11 landing gear logic shelf). 1) Make sure that the LE slats move to the full extend


 position. 2) Make sure that the LE FLAPS EXT light goes off. 3) Make sure that the LE FLAPS TRANSIT light comes on.

 (c)  
Push and hold the NOSE SENSING and AIR SENSING test switches (E-11 shelf). 1) Make sure that the LE FLAPS TRANSIT light goes off. 2) Make sure that the LE FLAPS EXT light comes on.

 (d)  
Release the GROUND SENSING, AIR SENSING and NOSE SENSING test switches. 1) Make sure that the slats move to the (intermediate) extend


 position. 2) Make sure that the LE FLAPS EXT light stays on.
 F. Put the Airplane to Its Initial Condition

Move the flap control lever to the UP position.

Remove the pressure from hydraulic system B (AMM 27-81-00/201).

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:

 (a)  
P6 Panel
 1) PTU CONTROL VALVE
 2) STBY HYD PUMP ALT
 3) STBY HYD PUMP NORMAL


 (b)  
P18 Panel
 1) LEFT ALPHA VANE HEATER
 2) RIGHT ALPHA VANE HEATER

 3.  System Test - Leading Edge Autoslat System__________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
The autoslat system components used in this test are the No. 1 and No. 2 Autoslat Computers (ASC), the Angle of Airflow (AOA) Sensors, and the antiskid control unit.

 (2)  
You will use the Portable Calibrator (AOA test fixture protractor) for all AOA vane angles in this test. You must make a correction to the AOA vane angles given in the test to include the aerodynamic offset of the individual AOA sensor. The aerodynamic offset is written on the trailing edge of each AOA sensor vane. For the left AOA sensor, you must add the aerodynamic offset to each angle specified in the test. For the the right AOA sensor, you must subtract the aerodynamic offset from each angle specified.
