LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS - TROUBLE SHOOTING
TROUBLE  PROBABLE CAUSE  ISOLATION PROCEDURE  REMEDY 
Leading edge flaps and slats fail to extend during normal system operation Leading edge flaps and slats fail to extend during alternate system operation flaps and slats do not extend or retract at speci-fied trailing edge flap angle Leading edge  valve Defective leading edge flap and slat control valve Hydraulic fuse (extend or pressure at leading edge standby shutoff valve leading edge standby shutoff Leading edge standby shutoff still in normal (Position 1) (closed) position Leading edge flap and slat control valve out of adjustment No dc power to Low hydraulic closed retract) has  Remove lower pan from flap control unit and disconnect adjustment link from cam follower arm. Manually actuate valve and check leading edge flap opera-tion. If flaps fail to extend -Check that standby hydrau-lic system low pressure warning light is extin-guished. If light is illuminated, refer to Hydraulic System Trouble Shooting, Chapter 29 Remove connector from leading edge standby shut-off valve and check for 28 volts dc. If power is not available, check wiring from valve to power source for open circuit Check that FLAPS VALVES circuit breaker is closed and that alternate flap master switch is at ARM. Retract trailing edge flaps to FLAP UP position. Re-move lower pan from flap control unit and install rigging pin Check for power across standby shutoff valve. If power is not present, valve is defective  Replace leading edge flap and slat control Leading Edge Flap and Slat Control Valve - Removal/ Installation, valve. Ref 27-81-81 fuse (Ref 27-81-61, R/I) Reset hydraulic Repair wiring as required Replace standby shutoff valve. Ref Leading Edge Standby Valve -Removal/ Installation, 27-81-91 Adjust leading edge flap and slat control valve
