 S 482-034
 WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LEADING
_______ EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS. THE LEADING EDGE DEVICES CAN BE OPERATED BY SYSTEM B OR THE POWER TRANSFER UNIT WITH SYSTEM A. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (2)  
Install the flight controls lock assembly on the standby hydraulic module to prevent the extension of the flaps and slats by the standby hydraulic system (Fig. 201):

 (a)  
Make sure the alternate flap arm switch is in OFF position.

 (b)  
Attach a DO-NOT-OPERATE tag on the alternate flap arm switch.

 (c)  
Disconnect the electrical connector from the leading edge devices shutoff valve.

 (d)  
Make sure the override lever at the leading edge devices shutoff valve is in position 1.


 WARNING: MAKE SURE TO INSTALL THE LOCK ASSEMBLY TO PREVENT
_______ ACCIDENTAL STANDBY SYSTEM OPERATION OF THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS. THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS CAN MOVE QUICKLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (e)  
Install the flight controls lock assembly on the standby hydraulic module.

 (f)  
Install the lockpin.

Procedure

 (1)  
Remove the leading edge flap and slat locks:

 (a)
Release the pressure from hydraulic system B (par. 3).

 WARNING: YOU MUST CAREFULLY REMOVE THE LEADING EDGE FLAP AND SLAT
_______ LOCKS. THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (b)  
Remove the leading edge flap and slat locks from the actuators of the leading edge flaps and slats.

 (c)  
Pressurize the hydraulic system B (par. 2).

 (d)  
Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent to fully retract the trailing edge flaps and the leading edge flaps and slats.

 (e)  
Release the pressure from hydraulic system B (par. 3).

 (2)  
Remove the flight controls lock assembly (Fig. 201):

 (a)  
Remove the lockpin.

 (b)  
Remove the flight controls lock assembly from the standby hydraulic module.

 (c)  
Make sure the override lever at the leading edge devices shutoff valve is in position 1.

 (d)  
Connect the electrical connector to the leading edge devices shutoff valve.

 (e)  
Remove the DO-NOT-OPERATE tag from the alternate flap arm switch.

 LEADING EDGE FLAP AND SLAT CONTROL SYSTEM- ADJUSTMENT/TEST

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are five tasks in this procedure. The first task is the operational test of the leading edge flap and slat system. The second task is the operation test of the uncommanded leading edge extension with the standby hydraulic power. The third task is the adjustment test of the leading edge flap and slat system. The fourth task is the system test of the leading edge flap and slat system. The fifth task is the test of the alternate operation of the leading edge flap and slat system.
