Set the FLT CONTROL A or B switch on the forward overhead panel (P5) to STDBY RUD. 1) Make sure the STANDBY HYD LOW PRESSURE light comes on. 2) Make sure that the standby hydraulic pump starts. 3) Make sure the STANDBY HYD LOW PRESSURE light goes off.

 (h)  
Monitor the leading edge flaps and slats for 60 seconds.

 (i)  
Make sure that the flaps and slats do not extend.


 NOTE: The leading edge flaps can slowly extend because of
____
 gravity.

 (j) Put the FLT CONTROL switch back to the ON position.

 4. Leading Edge Flaps and Slats - Adjustment/Test
______________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
The adjustment of the trailing edge flap system must be correct before you adjust the leading edge flap and slat system. The rigging of the leading edge flap and slat system contains these parts:

 (a)  
The adjustment of the leading edge flap and slat control valve.

 (b)  
The adjustment of the flap nose linkage on each leading edge flap.

 (c)  
The adjustment of each leading edge slat to the aligned position.

 (2)  
You can adjust the leading edge flaps and slats with the airplane on or off the jacks. You can also adjust the leading edge flaps and slats when the airplane has fuel or no fuel in the tanks. You must get the same adjustment tolerances no matter what condition the airplane is in, when you rig the slats.
