CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE INBOARD FAN DUCT COWL AND THE THRUST
_______ REVERSERS ARE CLOSED OR COMPLETELY REMOVED BEFORE YOU EXTEND THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS. FAILURE TO CLOSE OR REMOVE THE INBOARD FAN DUCT COWL AND THE THRUST REVERSERS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE EQUIPMENT.

Put the alternate flap control switch to the DOWN position. Hold the switch until the dimension X is 20.25 to 20.40 inches more than the dimension X measured when the flaps are hydraulically retracted.

Put the alternate flap control switch to the OFF position.

Remove the switch cover from the flap control unit found in the ceiling area of the right wheel well (Fig. 502).
