(e)
Connect the flap nose rod to the crank.
(f)
Do a check of the clearances on the outboard flap and the outboard flap nose of the inboard flap. 1) Make sure there is sufficient clearance between the flap
nose and the structure and the upstop beam at the aft edge of the flap.
2) Adjust the linkage if it is necessary. a) Disconnect the flap nose links and rods from the crank. b) If a faster retraction of the flap nose is necessary,
decrease the length of the flap nose links. c) If a slower retraction of the flap nose is necessary,
increase the length of the flap nose links. d) Adjust the flap nose rods. e) Make sure the flap nose touches the pads on the flap
panel with the flap fully extended. f) Tighten the adjustment nuts on the flap nose links. g) Install a lockwire. h) Tighten the adjustment nuts on the flap nose rods. i) Install a lockwire. j) Connect the flap nose links and rods to the crank. k) Tighten the nuts to 5-10 pound-inches. l) Install the cotter pins.
(g) Make sure there is a minimum of 0.04 inch clearance between the retracted flap and an adjacent component.

(11)
Do a check of the flap nose clearances with the flap retracted hydraulically:
(a)
Pressurize hydraulic system B (Ref 27-81-00/201).
(b)
Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent to retract the leading edge flaps.
(c)
Make sure the clearances are the same as the clearances during the manual retraction. 1) If the clearances are not the same, adjust the flap nose
linkages again.

Do a check of the flap panel clearances and mismatch:
(a)
Do a check of the clearance at flap panel trailing edge and mismatch at leading edge.
(b)
For all but the aft 5 inches of the flap, make sure the clearance between the inboard and outboard flap panels is 0.06 to 0.15 inch.
(c)
For the aft 5 inches of the flap, make sure the clearance between the inboard and outboard flap panels is 0.06 to 0.25 inch.
WARNING:_______ CAREFULLY REMOVE THE LEADING EDGE FLAP ACTUATOR LOCKS. THE
LEADING EDGE FLAPS CAN MOVE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE
LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT.
