Manually put the seal door aft of the Krueger flap.

Install the cam roller on the seal door.
(h)
Tighten the bolt to 60-85 pound-inches.

Remove the stop shim, stop plate, and stop buffer.
(j)
Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP position.
(k)
Measure the distance between the Krueger flap to the seal door
0.80 inches forward of the cam fastener (Detail D).
(l)
Remove lamination from the cam shim if it is necessary.
1) Make sure there is a maximum compression of the blade seal to the fixed structure with the blade seal stays in contour.
(m)
Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent to extend the leading edge flaps.
(n)
Remove the cam roller.
(o)
Replace the shim below the cam on the Krueger flap.
(p)
Manually put the seal door aft of the Krueger flap.
(q)
Install the cam roller on the seal door.
(r)
Tighten the bolt to 60-85 pound-inches.
(s)
Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent.
(t)
Make sure there is a maximum compression of the blade seal to the fixed structure with the blade seal stays in contour. 1) If it is necessary, adjust the cam shim again.
(u)
Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent to extend the leading edge flaps.
(v)
Apply two layers of the primer on the cam shim before the last installation.

Apply modeling clay to the upstop (Detail E).
(x)
Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP position.
(y)
Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent to extend the leading edge flaps.
(z)
Measure the clearance between the seal door and the upstop from the modeling clay. (aa) Remove lamination of the stop shim.
1) Remove lamination from the stop shim to get the stop shim, stop plate, and stop buffer thickness of 0.005 to 0.020 inches more than the clearance measured.
NOTE: This will give you a positive contact between the
____ stop plate and the upstop.
2) Apply primer on the stop shim. (ab) Install the stop shim, stop plate, and stop buffer on the seal door. (ac) Tighten the nuts that attach the stop shims to 15-20
pound-inches. (ad) Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent. (ae) Make sure there is maximum compression of the blade seal to the
fixed structure with the blade seal stays in contour. 1) If it is necessary, remove the stop shim to get a seal door fit. (af) Place flap control lever in 1-unit detent to extend leading edge flaps. (ag) Apply two layers of the primer to the stop shim before the last installation. (ah) Move the flap control lever to the FLAP UP detent.

LEADING EDGE SLATS - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. The first task is the removal of the leading edge slat. The second task is the installation of the leading edge slat.
B. You can adjust the leading edge slats with the airplane on or off the jacks, with fuel or no fuel in the tanks. But, you must get the clearance and mismatch tolerances with the same conditions as when you adjust the slats.
