Procedure

 S 864-002
 (1)  
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 S 864-003

 (2)  
Supply the system A hydraulic power (Ref 27-62-00/201).

 (3)  
Put the SPOILER A and B switches to the OFF position to remove the hydraulic power from the flight spoilers.

 WARNING: DO NOT PUT A PART OF YOUR BODY BETWEEN THE SPOILER AND THE WING
_______ UNLESS YOU REMOVE HYDRAULIC POWER. THE SPOILERS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS.
 (4)  
Lift the spoiler or extend the flaps to get access to the spoiler actuator:

 (a)  
Put the speed brake lever in the UP position to lift the spoilers.

 (b)  
Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent to extend the trailing edge flaps. 1) Open the trailing edge access panel to get access to the

 spoiler actuator.

Remove the system A hydraulic power (Ref 27-62-00/201).

Remove the ground spoiler actuator (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Disconnect the two mounting bolts on the bracket attached to the actuator.

 (b)  
Disconnect the piston rod end of the actuator from the spoiler.

 (c)  
Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the actuator: 1) Put a container below the actuator to catch the hydraulic

 fluid. 2) Disconnect the hydraulic tubes from the actuator. 3) Lower the hydraulic lines and the bracket with the swivel
 joints. 4) Install the plugs in the hydraulic lines.
 (d)  
Remove the pillow blocks and the split ball bearings from the structure.

 (e)  
Remove the actuator from the airplane.

 (f)  
Remove the hydraulic unions from the actuator.

 (g)  
Install the caps in the hydraulic ports of the actuator.

If you will install used parts, examine the bolt and bushing for worn areas (Ref 27-62-94/601).

Install the hydraulic unions in the actuator:

 (a)  
Apply the hydraulic fluid or the assembly lube to the O-rings.
