Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Make sure that these circuit breakers are closed:
(a)
P6-2 Panel
1) ALT TE FLAP DRIVE AC
2) FLAP

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, TRAILING EDGE FLAPS, LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS, SPOILERS LANDING GEAR AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) Supply the system B hydraulic power (AMM 27-51-00/201).
NOTE: When hydraulic system B is powered by the electric motor
____ driven pump and hydraulic system A has power, a transient low pressure as low as 800 psi and hydraulic noise can occur when you operate the flaps. This noise occurs only during unusual conditions and is not a cause for alarm. This noise will not cause damage to the airplane.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE THRUST REVERSERS AND THE ENGINE COWLS ARE CLOSED
_______ BEFORE YOU OPERATE THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS. THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE AIRPLANE.
(4) Make sure the inboard thrust reverser and the engine cowls are closed.

Do the test of the flap alternate drive unit.
(a)
Put the ALTERNATE FLAP arm switch in the ARM position.
NOTE: The standby hydraulic pump motor will operate when the
____ ALTERNATE FLAP arm switch is in the ARM position.
(b) Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent.
NOTE: The load on the flap hydraulic motors is less with the
____ flap control lever in the 40-unit position and the hydraulic system B pressurized.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE LE
_______ AND TE FLAPS AND FLAP DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAPS. THE FLAPS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
CAUTION: DURING GROUND OPERATION, DO NOT OPERATE THE FLAP ALTERNATE
_______ DRIVE UNIT MORE THAN 4 MINUTES OPERATION AND 25 MINUTES OFF. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLAP ALTERNATE DRIVE UNIT.
(c) Put the ALTERNATE FLAP control switch in the DOWN position. Hold the switch in this position until the flaps stop.
NOTE: The extension of the trailing edge flaps is controlled
____
by the limit switches.
1) Make sure the time to extend the flaps is 146 +10/-20 seconds.
(d) Put the ALTERNATE FLAP control switch in the UP position. Hold the switch in this until the trailing edge flaps stop.

(e) Put the flap control lever in the UP detent.
1) Make sure the time for the flaps to retract is 146 +10/-20 seconds.
D. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
