(1) If you will install used parts, do this task: Inspection" (Ref 27-51-07/601). "Inboard Foreflap

(2) Install the foreflap: (a) Put the foreflap on the toggle. (b) Install the pivot rollers: 1) Put the bushing in the pivot roller. 2) Install the washer and nut on the pivot roller. 3) Tighten the nut to 50-100 pound-inches. 4) Install the cotter pin.

(3) Attach the three foreflap tracks to the foreflap: (a) Cut the shims to fit the clearances between the foreflap track and the track attach fitting. 1) The maximum permitted clearance between the foreflap track and the attach fitting is 0.002 inch with the shims installed.
(b) (c) (d) Apply the primer to the shims.Install the shims with the primer wet.Install the two track attach bolts to attach the track to the attach fitting: 1) Apply a layer of the grease to the bolts. 2) Install the bolt, washer and nut. 3) Foreflap tracks can be temporarily attached to the flap.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic systems A and B: "Depressurize Hydraulic System" (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Make sure the clearance between the trailing edge of the foreflap and the upper surface of the midflap is 0.13 +0.07/-0.08 inch (Section A-A).
(a)
If the clearance is not in the tolerance, add or remove the shims between the foreflap and the track attach fitting.
(b)
Apply the primer to the shims.
(c)
Tighten the track attach fitting bolts.
(d)
Install the cotter pin if applicable.

With the flaps retracted, make sure the bulb seal on the lower forward edge of the ground spoiler is compressed 0.10 to 0.20 inch.
(a)
Adjust the seal retainer if it is necessary.
(b)
Lower the spoilers: 1) Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system A "Pressurize Hydraulic System" (Ref 27-51-00/201). 2) Move the speed brake lever to the DOWN position to lower the spoilers.
3) Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system A "Depressurize Hydraulic System" (Ref 27-51-00/201).
