If used parts will be used to install the flap track fairing, do this task: "Outboard Flap Track Fairing Inspection" (Ref 27-51-52/601).

If it is necessary, install the cam track of the aftflap drive mechanism:

 (a)  
Do this task: "Trailing Edge Flap System Activation" (Ref 27-51-00/201).

 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL
 CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER.
 AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING
 GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU
 SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER.  THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS

 AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 (b) Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system B: "Pressurize Hydraulic System A, B, or Standby" (Ref 29-15-00/201).
 WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE
 TRAILING EDGE FLAPS, THE LEADING EDGE FLAPS AND SLATS AND
 THE DRIVE MECHANISMS BEFORE YOU MOVE THE FLAP CONTROL
 LEVER.  THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO

 EQUIPMENT.
 (c)  
Move the flap control lever to the flaps position 0 (flaps up) detent to retract the flaps.

 (d)  
Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system B: "Depressurization of Hydraulic System A, B, or Standby" (Ref 29-15-00/201).

 (e)  
Measure and make a record of the distance between the fairing pivot point and the bellcrank pivot point (Fig. 401). Identify this dimension as dimension Y.

 (f)  
Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system B: "Pressurize Hydraulic System A, B, or Standby" (Ref 29-15-00/201).

 (g)  
Move the flap control lever to the flaps position 40 (flaps down) detent to extend the flaps.

 (h)  
Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system B: "Depressurization of Hydraulic System A, B, or Standby" (Ref 29-15-00/201).

 (i)  
Do this task: "Trailing Edge Flap System Deactivation" (Ref 27-51-00/201).

 (j)  
Install the cam track of the aftflap drive mechanism in the center fairing: 1) Install tapered shims and fasteners to hold the cam track


 in its position.
 NOTE: Use the tapered shims that were installed before.

 a)  Set the cam tracks on the serrated plates with the bolts in the center of the slotted holes in the cam track.

 2)  Do a check of the cam track position in relation to the bell crank pivot point: a) Measure and make a record of the distance between the
 forward end of the cam track and the fairing pivot point (Fig. 401). Identify this dimension as dimension
 X.
 b)  Subtract the value for dimension Y from the value for dimension X.
 NOTE: The difference between the values of X and Y
____ must be 6.10 to 6.46 inches.
 c)  If the difference between the values of X and Y is out of the tolerance, adjust the cam track.
 NOTE: Move the cam track forward or aft until the
