FLAP CONTROL UNIT - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the flap control unit.
B. The flap control unit includes the flap control valves for the leading edge and the trailing edge flaps, the control linkage, the follow-up linkage, and the flap limit switch actuation cams. The flap limit switches are installed on the flap control unit but they are not part of the replacement control unit assembly.

Procedure
S 864-002
(1)
Retract the trailing edge flaps if it is necessary:
(a)
Do this task: "Hydraulic System B Pressurization" (AMM 27-51-00/201).
(b)
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.
(c)
Do this task: "Hydraulic System B Depressurization" (AMM 27-51-00/201).

Remove the lower pan from the flap control unit (Fig. 401):

Remove the switch cover from the flap control unit.

Remove the flap limit switches from the flap control unit:
(a)
Use the wrench set to remove the limit switches.
(b)
Install a tag on each switch to identify the correct switch location.
(c)
Install the retaining nuts and roller guides on the switches.
