Procedure

(1) Install the right angle gearbox on the support bracket (Fig. 401):
CAUTION: MAKE SURE THAT THE HEAD OF THE RIGHT HOUSING BOLT IS
_______ FORWARD. THE BOLT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE RETENTION SCREWS FOR THE TORQUE TUBE COUPLING SLEEVE IF YOU INSTALL IT INCORRECTLY.
(a) Install the three housing bolts, washers and nuts to attach the gearbox to the support bracket. 1) Install the head of the right bolt forward. 2) Install the heads of the countersunk bolts aft.

(2) Attach the support bracket, with the gearbox, to the structure with the three mounting bolts, washers and nuts.
NOTE: Make sure the flaps are fully retracted.

(3) Make sure the right angle gearbox and the No. 4 or 5 transmission gearbox are aligned (Fig./402):
NOTE: The airplane must be on its landing gear when you examine the

alignment.
(a) Install the alignment tool:
1) Install the alignment tool on the output shaft of the right angle gearbox and the input shaft of the transmission.

2) Make sure the end cap (the end opposite the spring) is on the transmission.
(b)
Make sure the cable is in the tolerance zone in the vertical and the horizontal plane.
(c)
Remove the alignment tool between the right angle gearbox and the transmission gearbox.
(d)
Install the alignment tool with the end cap on the right angle gearbox.
(e)
Make sure the cable is in the tolerance zone in the vertical and the horizontal plane.
(f)
If the cable is not in the tolerance zone, align the right angle gearbox:
NOTE: Do not move the transmission gearbox to align the right

angle gearbox.
