Remove the bolt that attaches the foreflap to the exhaust gate actuation rod.
(b)
Remove the bolts which attach the foreflap to the foreflap sequence carriage at each flap track.
(c)
Remove the bolts which attach the foreflap links to the foreflap track.
(d)
Remove the foreflap from the airplane.
NOTE: The foreflap weighs approximately 64 pounds.

(1) If you will install used parts, do this task: Outboard Foreflap Sequence Carriage Inspection (AMM 27-51-47/601).

Install the Outboard Foreflap (Fig. 401):
(a)
Attach the foreflap to the foreflap sequence carriage on each flap track: 1) Align the fittings on the foreflap to the lugs on the
sequence carriage. 2) Install the fasteners on the foreflap sequence carriage. 3) Tighten the nuts to 60-85 pound-inches. 4) Install cotter pins in the fasteners.
(b)
Install the fasteners to attach the foreflap links to the foreflap tracks.
NOTE: Make sure the foreflap tracks on the leading edge of the
____ midflap are installed with the proper orientation (Fig. 402).
(c) Install the bolt that attaches the exhaust gate actuation mechanism to the foreflap. 1) Tighten the nut.

Make sure you installed the foreflap correctly:
(a)
Apply the minimum force necessary to make the foreflap sequence carriages touch the track stops on the flap tracks. Make sure the deadweight rollers touch the top surface of the flap track.
(b)
Measure the clearance between the toggle roller and the forward side of the toggle detent.
NOTE: The clearance must be a minimum of 0.02 inch.
