INBOARD MIDFLAP CARRIAGE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General

A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the inboard midflap carriage. It is necessary to remove the applicable flap and the flap track fairing from the airplane before you remove the carriage.

2. Inboard Midflap Carriage Removal (Fig. 401)

A. Special Tools and Equipment
(1) Rig Pins (F-5 and F-6) - 0.248 +0.000/-0.002 inch diameter, 3.7 +/-0.25 inches long (MS20392-3)
NOTE: The rig pins are part of the kit F0207-69, -78, or -83

Do this task: "Inboard Trailing Edge Flap Removal" (Ref 27-51-04/401).

On an inboard carriage, disconnect the boom cables:
(a)
Install a clamp on the boom cables where the cables go through the midflap end rib.
(b)
Remove the rig pins from the boom.
NOTE: You install the rig pins during the trailing edge flap
____
removal.
(c)
Loosen the cables at the two ends of the boom.
(d)
Install the rig pins on the two sides of the boom roller.
(e)
Remove the pulley bracket (11).
NOTE: Do not remove the cable guards or the cables from the
____ pulley and bracket assembly.
1) Let the bracket assembly hang from the torque shaft (4).
