 (1)  
Install the hydraulic fittings in the flap hydraulic motor:

 (a)  
Apply the hydraulic fluid or the assembly lube to the O-rings.


 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE CHECK VALVE ARROW IS POINTED AWAY FROM THE
_______ MOTOR. IF YOU INSTALL THE CHECK VALVE INCORRECTLY YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR.
 (b)  
Install the O-ring and the check valve in the case drain port on the flap hydraulic motor.

 (c)  
Install the O-rings and the reducers in the ports on the flap hydraulic motor.

 (2)  
Install the flap hydraulic motor on the flap power unit:

 (a)  
Apply a thin layer of the grease to the splines on the shaft.

 (b)  
Carefully put the flap hydraulic motor in the flap power unit.

 (c)  
Install the bolts to attach the flap hydraulic motor.

 (3)  
Attach the hydraulic lines to the flap hydraulic motor:

 (a)  
Remove the caps from the hydraulic lines.

 (b)  
Attach the hydraulic lines to the flap hydraulic motor.

 (4)  
Pressurize the hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).

 (5)  
Extend and retract the flaps to bleed the hydraulic system.

 (6)  
Examine the hydraulic lines on motor for leaks.

 (7)  S 974-013Measure the time necessary to move the flaps:
 NOTE:____ You must use a hydraulic service cart set to 20 gpm and 3000 psi or the engine-driven pump to do this test.
 (a) (b)  Move the flap control lever from the UP detent to the 40-unit detent to extend the flaps.Make sure the time necessary to extend the flaps is 38.5 | 5 seconds.
 NOTE:____ You must measure the time from the flaps retracted to the flaps extended position. The flaps are fully extended when the clearance between the No. 4 ballscrew nut and the downstop is 1.50 | 0.20 inches.
 (c) (d)  Put the flap control lever in the UP detent.Make sure the time necessary for the flaps to retract is 38.5 | 5 seconds.
 (8)  S 864-014Release the pressure in the hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).
 (9)  S 614-010Fill the hydraulic reservoirs if it is necessary (Ref 12-12-00/301).

 (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.
