Move the cables from the boom area into the aftflap drive mechanism.
(c)
Wind the cable approximately 1/3 turn on the middle groove on the drum.
(d)
Attach the cable to the cable drum.
(e)
With tension on the cable, put the cable on the drum and turn the drum until the aftflap is fully retracted.
(f)
Install a cable clamp on the cable to hold the tension.
(g)
Make sure the cable is on the cable drum approximately 1-1/3 turns and is in the middle and lower grooves.
NOTE: The lower groove is the nearest to the bottom of the
____ flap.

Install the cable BC-4:
(a)
Wind the cable approximately 1/2 turn on the middle groove on the cable drum.

Install the screw, washer and nut to attach the ends of the cables to the cable drum (1).

Attach the cables to the boom assembly:
(a)
Put cable BC-4 in the groove of the pulley (2).
(b)
Pull the cable BC-4 through the opening in the flap rib.
(c)
Put the cable BC-4 on the pulley (5) below the pulley (3) and around the pulley (9).
(d)
Apply a two pound weight to the end of the cable BC-4.
(e)
Move the end of the cable BC-3 through the opening in the flap rib.
(f)
Put the cable BC-3 to the forward end of the boom (8) over pulley (6) and under the pulley (9).
(g)
Put the end fitting for the cable BC-3 in the cable socket.

Manually hold the tension on the cables and remove the cable clamp from the cable BC-3.
(i)
Pull on the cable BC-3 and hold the tension on the cable BC-4 to fully extend the aftflap. 1) Make sure the cables move correctly on the drum and
pulleys. 2) Make sure the cable BC-3 is in the center groove of the drum at point A. 3) Make sure the cable BC-4 is in the top groove at point B.
(j)
Manually move the aftflap to the retracted position. 1) Make sure the cables operate correctly on the cable drum. 2) Make sure the cable BC-3 is in the lower groove at point A. 3) Make sure the cable BC-4 is in the center groove at
Point/B.
(k)
Manually extend the aftflap.
(l)
Put the end fitting of the cable BC-4 in the cable socket at the aft end of the boom (8).
(m)
Tighten the cable adjustment nut (7) to tighten the cable BC-4.
(n)
Tighten the cable adjustment nut to tighten the cable BC-3.

Supply the system B hydraulic power (AMM 27-51-00/201).

Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

Adjust the tension on the cables:
(a)
Install the rig pins F-5 and F-6 through the inboard side of the boom to hold the boom roller.
(b)
Tighten the cable adjustment nuts (7) and (10) until the cam roller is 0.42 |0.03 inch from the forward end of the cam slot in the cable drum (1). 1) If it is not easy to get the 0.42 inch dimension, you can
use a rigging block.
a) You can make the rigging lock from a 2.25 inch plastic (or equivalent) block. The block must have the correct shape of the cam slot.
b) Use the tape to hold the rigging block in the cam slot and put the roller against the block.
