Remove the transmission:
(a)
Remove the four bolts that attach the transmission to the flap track.
(b)
Remove the transmission from the airplane.

Remove an Inboard Flap Inboard Transmission (No. 4 or 5)
S 034-015
(1)
Disconnect the transmission ballscrew from the gimbal (Fig. 402):
(a)
Remove the four bolts that attach the gimbal yoke to the ballscrew nut.
(b)
Remove the bushings from the ballscrew nut.
S 034-016
(2)
Disconnect the torque tubes from the flap transmission (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the screws that attach the coupling sleeve to the coupling on the transmission.
(b)
Move the coupling sleeves off the coupling.
(c)
Disconnect the torque tube from the coupling.

(3)
If it is necessary, remove the two bolts at the universal joint to disconnect the ballscrew from the transmission.
S 024-018
(4)
Remove the transmission:
(a)
Remove the four bolts that attach the transmission to the flap track.
(b)
Remove the transmission from the airplane.

Remove an Inboard Flap Outboard Transmission (No. 3 or 6)
S 034-019
(1)
Disconnect the transmission ballscrew from the gimbal (Fig. 402):
(a)
Remove the four bolts that attach the gimbal yoke to the ballscrew nut.
(b)
Remove the bushings from the ballscrew nut.
S 034-020
(2)
Disconnect the torque tubes from the flap transmission (Fig. 401):
(a)
Remove the screws that attach the coupling sleeve to the coupling on the transmission.
(b)
Move the coupling sleeves off the coupling.
(c)
Disconnect the torque tube from the coupling.

Remove the two bolts at the universal joint to disconnect the ballscrew from the transmission.

Remove the aileron pulley.
S 014-023
(5)
Disconnect the fire extinguisher line:
(a)
Turn the fire extinguisher line until it is clear of the transmission.
(b)
Install a cap on the two ends of the fire extinguisher line.

(6)
Remove the hydraulic line aft of the transmission.
(a)
Install a cap on the two ends of the hydraulic line.
