Make sure there is a clearance between the forward toggle roller and the forward slope of the slot (Fig. 401).

Attach the flap to the ballscrew gimbal (Fig. 403):

 (a)  
Move the flap until the attach fitting and the gimbal are aligned.

 (b)  
Apply a layer of the corrosion preventive compound on the gimbal bushings.

 (c)  
Install the gimbal bushings and the shims on the gimbals and the attach fittings.


 NOTE: Make sure you install the shims of the same thickness in
____
 the same location as you removed.

 (d)  
Install the three bolts to attach each gimbal bushing.

 (e)  
Make sure the clearance between the bushings and the gimbal is a minimum of 0.01 inch.

 (f)  
Make sure the clearance between the ballscrew nut and the vertical bushings is 0.006 +0.004/-0.000 inch when the opposite surface touches.

 (g)  
Install the bushing clamp-up bolts.

 (h)  
Tighten the clamp-up bolts to 60-85 pound-inches.

 Remove the flap drive screw support assembly from the flap track.

 Do this task to pressurize hydraulic system B:  "Supply Hydraulic Power" (AMM 27-51-00/201).

 Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

 (a)  
Control the hydraulic pressure to retract the flaps slowly.

 Stop for two minutes, then do this task to depressurize hydraulic system B: "Remove Hydraulic Power" (AMM 27-51-00/201).

 If you installed a new or overhauled flap, make sure the upstops on the ballnuts are 170 to 190 degrees (1/2 turn |10 degrees) from the upstops on the ballscrews.

 If you installed the same flap and it had torque tube adjustment to correct lateral trim, make sure the upstops on the ballnuts are 90 to 300 degrees (1/4 to 5/6 turn) from the upstops on the ballscrews.
