Procedure


 S 864-004
 (1)  
Pressurize the hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).

 (2)  
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.


 NOTE: If the flap power unit does not operate, you must disconnect
____ the torque tubes from the power unit. Manually turn the torque tubes to retract the flaps.

 (3)  
Depressurize the hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (a)  
P6 Panel
 1) ALT TE FLAP DRIVE AC


 (5)
Remove the inboard flap track fairings (Ref 27-51-32/401).

Disconnect the electrical connector from the flap alternate drive unit (Fig. 401).

 (7)
Remove the lower pan from the flap control unit (Fig. 402).

 CAUTION: DO NOT PRESSURIZE THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS WITH THE RIG PIN F-1
_______ INSTALLED. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLAP CONTROL UNIT.
 (8)  
Install the rig pin F-1 in the flap control unit.

Disconnect the torque tubes from the flap power unit (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Remove the screws that attach the sleeves on the torque tubes to the coupling on the flap power unit.

 (b)  
Move the sleeves off the couplings and disconnect the torque tubes.

 Disconnect the hydraulic lines from the flap hydraulic motor:

 (a)  
Disconnect the hydraulic lines.

 (b)  
Install plugs in the hydraulic lines and ports.

 Disconnect the WFFA and WFFB cables from the flap power unit:

 (a)  
Turn the turnbuckles to loosen the cables.

 (b)  
Remove the cables from the flap power unit.

 (c)  
Install a tag on the cables to identify them.

 Remove the flap power unit (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Disconnect the bonding jumper from the mounting bracket for the flap power unit.

 (b)  
Remove the bolts that attach the flap power unit to the mounting bracket.

 (c)  
Remove the flap power unit from the airplane.

 (d)  
Remove the flap alternate drive unit from the flap power unit.

 (e)  
Remove the flap hydraulic motor from the flap power unit.

Rig Pin (F-1) - 0.311 +0.000/-0.002 inch diameter 3.40 +/-0.06 inch long (MS20392-4)


 NOTE: The rig pin is a part of the kit F70207-69, -78, or -83.
