OUTBOARD AFTFLAP - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of an outboard aftflap.
B. If a new Aft flap is not installed or a repair made to an existing flap that will not change position, it is optional to perform the adjustment of the trailing edge of the aft flap (fig. 402).

Pressurize hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent to extend the flaps.

Release the pressure in hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Remove the four access panels from the top surface of the midflap.

Remove the outboard aftflap:
(a)
Remove the bolts that connect the aftflap pushrods to the aftflap.
(b)
Remove the bolts, washers and nuts that attach the four bottom flight rollers to the roller support fitting.
(c)
Move the aftflap aft and lift the trailing edge.
(d)
Remove the aftflap from the aftflap track.
(e)
Install the bottom flight rollers on the roller support fitting.
