 (7)  Do a test of the minimum lockout torque: (a) Install the spline adapter on the input coupling of the right angle gearbox. (b) Attach the torque wrench to the adapter on the gearbox. (c) Slowly increase the torque applied to the adapter until the torque is at the limit.
 NOTE:____ It can be necessary to turn the input coupling 3/4 turn.
 1) 2)  The limit for transmissions 1, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 is 180 pound-inches.The limit for transmissions 2 and 7 is 210 pound-inches.

 (d)  Make a note of the indication on the torque wrench on the universal joint when the necessary input torque is applied (Fig. 602).
 NOTE:____This torque value is the minimum lockout torque. You should do the test of the lockout torque in the same direction as the flap movement during the lockout.

Do the test of the minimum lockout for all applicable transmissions.

Remove the torque wrenches and adapters.

Install the ballscrew yoke in the universal joint:

 (a)  
Put the ballscrew in its position.

 (b)  
Apply a layer of the BMS 3-24 grease to the bolt.

THESE VALUES ARE SLIGHTLY LOWER THAN THE VALUES LISTED FOR THE OVERHAUL FUNCTIONAL TEST WHEN USING THE FUNCTIONAL TEST RIG. THIS DIFFERENCE IS NECESSARY TO ACCOUNT FOR THE DIFFERENT METHOD OF TESTING.
