Apply a layer of the BMS 5-95 sealant to the outer diameter of the bushings.
(d)
Install the bushing in the gimbal yoke to attach the ballscrew nut to the gimbal.
(e)
Install the four bolts, washers and nuts to attach the bushing.
(f)
Tighten the nut to 30-40 pound-inches.
(g)
Apply a layer of the BMS 5-95 sealant to the bolts, washers and nuts.

Install an Inboard Flap Outboard Transmission (No. 3 and 6)

(1)
Attach the transmission to the flap track (Fig. 401):
(a)
Put the transmission aft of the structure above the flap track with the bolt holes aligned.
(b)
Turn the transmission 180 degrees to put the base of the transmission on the top side.
(c)
Move the transmission forward through the fairing and turn it 180 degrees to put the transmission in its position on the flap track.
(d)
Apply a layer of the BMS 5-95 sealant to the bolt holes.

Install the four bolts to attach the transmission to the flap track.
(f)
Tighten the bolts to 450-550 pound-inches.
(g)
Apply a layer of BMS 5-95 sealant to the bolts.

Install the hydraulic line aft of the transmission:
(a)
Remove the caps from the ends of the hydraulic line.
(b)
Connect the two ends of the hydraulic line.

Install the fire extinguisher line:
(a)
Remove the caps from the ends of the tube.
(b)
Turn the line to the correct position.
(c)
Connect the two ends of the tube.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THERE IS SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE HYDRAULIC
_______ TUBE AND THE FIRE EXTINGUISHING TUBE. IF THERE IS NOT SUFFICIENT CLEARANCE, THE TUBES CAN RUB. THIS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TUBES.

Do a check of the hydraulic tube and fire extinguishing tube that you installed:
(a)
Make sure the clamps on the tubes are not damaged and are correctly installed.
(b)
Make sure there is sufficient clearance between the tubes.

Install the aileron pulley.

Attach the ballscrew to the universal joint on the transmission (Fig. 401):
(a)
Apply a layer of the BMS 5-95 sealant to the mating surfaces of the ballscrew and the transmission.
(b)
Put the ballscrew in its position on the transmission universal joint.
(c)
Apply a layer of the BMS 5-95 sealant to the bolt holes.
(d)
Install the two bolts to attach the ballscrew to the universal joint.
(e)
Tighten the bolts to 60-85 pound-inches.
(f)
Apply a layer of the BMS 5-95 sealant to the bolts, washers and nuts.

(7)
Fill the ballscrew nut with the oil:
(a)
Install the alemite fitting on the oil can.

(8) For Beaver ballscrews, do the steps that follow:
CAUTION: BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PUSH IN THE BALL OF THE LUBRICATION
_______ FITTING. IF THE BALL OF THE LUBRICATION FITTING OR THE SEAT THAT THE BALL CONTACTS IS DAMAGED, THIS CAN CAUSE LEAKAGE OF THE LUBRICATION FITTING.
DO NOT USE A SHARP, POINTED OBJECT TO PUSH IN THE BALL OF THE LUBRICATION FITTINGS THAT HAVE AN ELASTOMER BALL. A SHARP POINTED OBJECT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE BALL AND CAUSE LEAKAGE OF THE LUBRICATION FITTING.
