 1)  If the aftflap does not move smoothly, adjust the deadweight rollers.
 NOTE: Make sure you keep the clearances of the rollers in
____ the tolerance.
 (l)  Attach the aftflap pushrods to the aftflap:
 1)  Apply a layer of the corrosion preventive compound to the bolts.

 CAUTION: INSTALL THE BOLTS WITH THE HEADS UP AND DO NOT
_______ INSTALL WASHERS ON BOLTS HEAD. THE INCORRECT BOLT DIRECTION OR INSTALLATION OF THE WASHER CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE MIDFLAP AND AFTFLAP.
 2) Install the bolts and nuts with the bolt heads up to attach the aftflap pushrods. 3) Tighten the nuts and install the cotter pins.

Pressurize the hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

Install the four access panels on the top surface of the midflap.

Do the Aftflap Adjustment

 (1)  
Adjust the the position of the aftflap (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Apply an upward force of 15 to 20 pounds to the trailing edge of the aftflap to make sure the aftflap flight rollers touch.

 (b)  
Make sure the lower surface of the midflap and the aftflap align in these limits: 1) At the leading edge of the aftflap, +/- 0.06 inch. 2) At the trailing edge of the aftflap, +0.06/-0.13 inch.

 (c)  
Make sure the clearance between the leading edge of the aftflap and the trailing edge of the midflap is 0.01 to 0.20 inch.

 (d)  
Make sure the clearance between the trailing edge of the midflap and the top surface of the aftflap is 0.01 to 0.20 inch.

 (e)  
If the clearances are not in the tolerance, change the shims for the aftflap track or adjust the aftflap pushrods.

 (2)  
Pressurize hydraulic system B (AMM 27-51-00/201).

Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent to extend the flaps.

 (4)
Remove the pressure from the hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Measure the Dimension B at the aft flight roller (Fig. 401).

 (a)  
If the Dimension B is not in the tolerance, adjust the bellcrank clevis arm on the aftflap.


 NOTE: The aftflap will move approximately 0.05 inch for each

 turn of the bellcrank clevis arm.

Measure the clearance between the lower surface of the midflap and the leading edge of the aftflap at the inboard and outboard end of the flaps (Fig. 401):

Make sure the clearance is 0.01-0.20 inch (Section A-A, Fig. 401).

 (b)  
If the clearance is not in the tolerance, adjust the length of the aftflap pushrods.

 (c)  
The clearances must be the same for the left wing and the right wing in the limit of 0.05 inch.
