 (c)  
Attach the quadrant segment to the shaft with the bolt, washer and nut.

 (d)  
Hold a 20-50 pound upward force on the shaft and a downward force on the quadrant segment while you tighten the nut.


 NOTE: The force will engage the shaft in the bearings.

 1) Tighten the nut to 90-110 pound-inches.

Connect the WFA and WFB cables:

 (a)  
Connect the WFA and WFB cables to the quadrant with a cotter pin. 1) Remove the cable clamps from the cables.

 (b)  
AIRPLANES WITH A ONE PIECE WFA/B-2 CABLE; Attach the loose part of the cable to the quadrant with the straps.

 (c)  
Apply the grease to the control cable where the cable touches the quadrant.

 (d)  
Make sure the quadrant stops are clean.

 (e)  
Connect the WFA and WFB cables at the turnbuckles. 1) Remove the tags and the cable clamps from the cables.

 (7)  
Lift the flap control lever to disengage the index from the detent plate (Fig. 402).

 (a)  
Install a clamp to hold the flap control lever in this position.

Adjust the WFA and WFB cables:

 (a)  
Adjust the WFA and WFB cables at the turnbuckles until the flap control lever goes back to the adjustment position shown in Fig. 402.


 NOTE: Make sure that the stops of the flap control quadrant
____ touch when the flap control lever is in the adjustment position.
 (b)  
Make sure the tension on the cables is in the tolerance shown in Fig. 402.

 (c)  
Install the lock clips on the turnbuckles.

 (d)  
Remove the clamp from the flap control lever.

 (9)  
Do this task: "Flap Control Unit Installation" (Ref 27-51-74/401).

 AIRPLANES WITH A ONE PIECE WFA/B-2 CABLE; Move the flap control lever from the UP position to the DOWN position and to the UP position again.

 (a)  
Make sure the loose part of the WFA/B-2 cable, cable straps, quadrant, and structure do not touch during the movement.

 TRAILING EDGE FLAP CONTROL VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

 1.  General_______
 A.  There are four tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the trailing edge flap control valve (referred to as the control valve). There is also a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the flap load limiter solenoid valve (referred to as the solenoid valve). The trailing edge flap control valve is attached to the flap control unit aft of the leading edge flap and slat control valve. The flap load limiter solenoid valve is installed on the trailing edge flap control valve.
