Install the inboard bolt with a new torque indicating washer.

Install the outboard bolt with a countersunk washer.
(f)
Install the nuts and washers.
(g)
Tighten the inboard bolt until the outer ring of the torque indicating washer does not turn: 1) If the bolt touches the bottom on the barrel nut, install a
washer under the head of the bolt.
(h)
Tighten the outboard nut to 360-420 pound-inches. 1) Make sure a minimum of one thread extends through the nut.
(i)
Install the lockwire on the heads of the bolts.

Clean the area around the bolt heads.

Apply a bead of the sealant around the bolt heads.

A. There is one task in this procedure; An inspection of the outboard flap tracks. To do the inspection, you measure the inner and outer diameters of the parts that attach the flap tracks.

Do this task: "Outboard Flap Track Removal" (Ref 27-51-49/401).

Measure the parts that attach the flap track (Fig. 601):
(a)
Remove the parts.
(b)
Use a micrometer or a vernier caliper to measure the parts.
(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.
(d)
Repair or replace all parts that are not in the tolerance, as shown in Fig. 601.
(e)
Install the parts.
