 (a)  
Remove the exhaust gate mounting bolts, washers, nuts and cotter pins.

Remove the exhaust gate mounting bolts, washers, and nuts.

 (1) Rig Pins (F-5 and F-6) - 0.248 +0.000/-0.002 inch diameter,
 3.7 |0.25 inches long (MS20392-3)
 NOTE: The rig pins are part of kit F70207-69, -78, or -83.

Install the Inboard Trailing Edge Flap Exhaust Gate

If you will install used parts, do this task: Inboard Flap Inspection (AMM 27-51-04/601).

 (2)  
Install the inboard flap exhaust gate:

 (3)  
AIRPLANES WITH THREE PUSHRODS; Attach the exhaust gate to the midflap with the bolts, washers, nuts and cotter pins.

 (a)  
Tighten the nuts to 30-40 pound-inches.

 (b)  Tighten the nuts to the nearest cotter pin hole and install the cotter pins.

Tighten the nuts to 100-120 pound-inches.

Do this task: Pressurize Hydraulic System B (AMM 27-51-00/201).

Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

Do this task: Depressurize Hydraulic System B (AMM 27-51-00/201).

AIRPLANES WITH THREE PUSHRODS;
 Adjust the exhaust gate rods (Fig. 402):


 (a)  
Remove the outboard panel from the lower surface of the midflap.

 (b)  
Install the rig pin in the FLAP-UP rig pin hole in the exhaust gate mechanism. 1) If you cannot install the rig pin, adjust the rod attached


 to the foreflap:
 a) Remove the rod that is attached to the foreflap and the

 exhaust gate mechanism. b) Install the rig pin into the FLAP-UP rig pin hole. c) Adjust the length of the rod. d) Install the rod on the foreflap and the exhaust gate
 mechanism.
 e) Remove the rig pin.

 (c)  Make sure the trailing edge of the exhaust gate and the aftflap align in the limits of +0.00 to -0.15 inch.
 NOTE: Make sure the trailing edge of the exhaust gate is below
____
 the aftflap.

 (d)  If the exhaust gate and the trailing edge are not in the tolerance, adjust the exhaust gate: 1) Hold the trailing edge of the exhaust gate. 2) Install the rig pin into the FLAP-UP rig pin hole.
