 7)  Make sure there is less than 0.0095 inches of axial backlash between the ballnut and the screw. a) If there is more than 0.0095 inches of axial backlash,
 remove and replace the units that are not in tolerance.
 (c)  
Disconnect the ball nut from the gimbal

 (d)  
Do a check of the wear surfaces of the parts with a micrometer or vernier caliper as applicable (Fig. 601).

 (e)  
Compare the dimensions measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.

 (f)  
Repair or replace the parts that are not in the tolerance specified in Fig. 601.

 (g)  
Connect the ball nut to the gimbal

Disconnect the applicable universal joint between the ballscrew and the flap transmission (AMM 27-51-73/401).

 (a)  
Do a check of the wear surfaces of the parts with a micrometer or vernier caliper as applicable (Fig. 602 - Fig. 605).

Compare the dimensions measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 602 - Fig. 605.
