(5) S 358-006Turn the sleeve 90 degrees.
NOTE:____ This will move the eroded edges of the flap control valve slide with respect to the rectangular slots in the sleeve.
(6) S 988-007Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent.
(7) S 868-008Do this task: "Hydraulic System B Pressurization" (Ref 27-51-00/201).
(8) S 868-009Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.
(9) S 718-010Do a test of the trailing edge flap control valve: (a) Extend and retract the flaps five times: 1) Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent to extend the flaps. 2) Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps. (b) Stop for two minutes, then do this task: "Hydraulic System B Depressurization" (Ref 27-51-00/201). (c) Remove the lower pan from the flap control unit. (d) Make sure that you can easily install the rig pin F-1 in the flap control unit. (e) If you cannot install the rig pin freely, do this task: "Trailing Edge Flap Control Valve Adjustment" (Ref 27-51-79/501). (f) Install the lower pan on the flap control unit.

TRAILING EDGE FLAP BYPASS VALVE - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. There are six tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the bypass valve assembly for the trailing edge flaps. There are tasks for the removal and for the installation of the bypass valve and the valve motor. There is also a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the bypass valve motor. The bypass valve assembly includes the bypass valve, the bypass valve motor and the bypass valve housing.

Do this task to depressurize hydraulic system B: "Depressurize Hydraulic System A, B, or Standby" (Ref 29-15-00/201).

Remove the Bypass Valve Assembly

Remove the electrical connector from the bypass valve motor (Fig. 401).

Disconnect the hydraulic lines:
(a)
Remove the hydraulic lines from the bypass valve housing.
(b)
Install the caps on the hydraulic lines and in the open ports.
