(f) Make sure the trailing edge of the aftflap is 0.00 to 0.25 inch below the wing chord plane.
NOTE: If you cannot get this dimension with the 0.23-inch
____ maximum permitted shim thickness, use a 0.23-inch shim. If you made trim corrections with the outboard TE flaps, the dimension can be more than the 0.00 to 0.25 inch limit. Examine the condition of the outboard flap track shim (AMM 27-51-49/401).

Remove the outboard flap rigging beam.

limit of 0.10 inch.
With the aftflap in the retracted position, measure the
position of the trailing edge of the aftflap and the outboard
fixed rib.
Make sure the trailing edge of the aftflap is 0.00 to 0.25 inch
below the outboard fixed rib.
Make sure the trailing edge of the opposite flap aligns in the
limit of 0.10 inch.
If the trailing edge of the aftflap is not in the limits,
adjust the thickness of the shims:
1) Use the chart on Fig. 501 to find the necessary shim
thickness. 2) The thickness of the shims on the inboard and the outboard carriages must be equal in the limit of 0.12 inch. 3) Remove the access panels from the top surface of the
midflap. 4) Install a support to hold the flap. 5) Remove the bolts that attach the carriage bearing support
to the midflap (Fig. 503).
NOTE: Do not remove more than one carriage bearing at a
____
time.
6) Install the correct shims between the carriage bearing
