 (c)  Install the bolts, washers and nuts to attach the transmission to the flap track: 1) Apply MIL-C-11796 Class 3 corrosion preventive compound to
 the bolts and to all areas of the hole.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE ENDS OF THE BOLTS DO NOT TOUCH THE
_______ TRANSMISSION HOUSING. THE BOLTS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION.
 2) Put the washers below the heads of the aft bolts to make
 sure the bolts go through the barrel nut 0.08 to 0.12 inch. 3) Put the bolts through the holes. 4) Tighten the two forward bolts to 870-1300 pound-inches. 5) Tighten the two aft bolts to 750-900 pound-inches.
 (d)  Apply a layer of the BMS 5-95 sealant to the bolts, washers and nuts.

 (2)  
Fill the ballscrew nut with the oil:

 (a)  
Install the alemite fitting on the oil can.

 (b)  
Push the top fitting on the ballscrew nut to bleed the pressure.

 (c)  
Fill the ballscrew nut until the oil flows out through the top fitting.

 (d)  
Close the top fitting.

 (e)  
Continue to fill the ballscrew nut until the oil flows out through the wiper seals or the vent hole.

 (3)  
Turn the ballscrew nut on the ballscrew until it align with the gimbal (Fig. 402).

 (4)  
Attach the ballscrew nut to the gimbal:


 NOTE: You can install the ballscrew nut with the lubrication

 reservoir on the inboard or the outboard side.

 (a)  
If you will install used bushings, make sure the bushings are in the tolerance (AMM 27-51-73/601).

 (b)  
Install the top and bottom gimbal bushings and shims. 1) Apply a layer of the MIL-C-11796, Class 3 corrosion preventive compound on the outer diameter of the bushings. 2) Hold the weight of the flap to keep the weight off the ballscrew nut. 3) Install shims with the same thickness as the shims that you


 removed. 4) Install the four bolts to attach the gimbal bushings. 5) Apply a layer of the MIL-C-11796, Class 3 corrosion
 prventive compound to the bolts.

 G. Install an Inboard Flap Inboard Transmission
 S 424-034
 (1)  
Attach the transmission to the flap track (Fig. 401):

 (a)  
Put the transmission in its position on the flap track.

 (b)  
Install the four bolts to attach the transmission to the flap track. 1) Tighten the four bolts to 300-500 pound-inches.

 (c)  
Apply a layer of the BMS 5-95 sealant to the bolts.

 (2)  
Fill the ballscrew nut with the oil:

 (a)  
Install the alemite fitting on the oil can.

 (b)  
Push the top fitting on the ballscrew nut to bleed the pressure.

 (c)  
Fill the ballscrew nut until the oil flows out through the top fitting.

 (d)  
Close the top fitting.

 (e)  
Continue to fill the ballscrew nut until the oil flows out through the wiper seals or the vent hole.

 (3)  
Turn the ballscrew nut on the ballscrew until the trunnion on the nut aligns with the gimbal (Fig. 402).

 (4)  
Attach the ballscrew nut to the gimbal:

 (a)  
Make sure the ball returns on the ballscrew nut are inboard.

 (b)  
If you will install used bushings, make sure the bushings are in the tolerance (AMM 27-51-73/601).
