 S 865-002
 (1)  
Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

 S 865-003

 (2)  
Pressurize the hydraulic system B (Ref 27-51-00/201).

Remove the inboard flap track fairings (Ref 27-51-32/401).

Make sure that these circuit breakers are closed:

 (a)  
P6 Panel
 1) ALT TE FLAP DRIVE AC
 2) FLAP
 3) FLAP POS IND - T.E.

 

 S 725-006
 (5)  
Make sure the flaps retract fully:

 (a)  
Put the flap control lever in the 1-unit detent to extend the flaps.

 (b)  
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

 (c)  
Make sure the two flap position indicators point in the white UP area on the indicator dial.

 (d)  
Make sure the ends of the two pointers align in the limit of


 0.040 inch.

 CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE ANGULAR CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE UPSTOPS IS 90
_______ TO 300 DEGREES (1/4 TO 5/6 TURN) IF YOU HAVE MADE LATERAL TRIM CORRECTIONS. A DIMENSION X NOT IN THIS LIMIT CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FLAP.
 (e)  At the number four and five ballscrews, make sure the angular clearance between the ballscrew upstops is 170 to 190 degrees (1/2 turn |10 degrees).

Make sure the flaps extend fully:

 (a)  
Measure the dimension X at the number four ballscrew. Refer to this as dimension X1.

 (b)  
Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent to extend the flaps.

 (c)  
Make sure the two flap position indicators are in the 40-unit white area on the indicator dial.

 (d)  
Measure the dimension X at the number four ballscrew. Refer to this as dimension X2.

 (e)  
Make sure that dimension X2 - X1 is in the limit of 29.82 to


 30.48 inches.

 (7)  
Put the flap control lever in the UP detent to retract the flaps.

 S 725-009

 (8)  
Make sure the alternate trailing edge flap system operates correctly:

 (a)  
Put the ALT FLAPS arm switch to the ARM position (The standby hydraulic pump motor will operate).

 (b)  
Put the flap control lever in the 40-unit detent.


 NOTE: The load on the flap hydraulic motor will be less with
