Remove the Bypass Valve and the Bypass Valve Motor

(1) Remove the electrical connector from the bypass valve motor (Fig. 401).

Remove the bypass valve and the bypass valve motor from the valve housing:
(a)
Put a container below the bypass valve to catch the hydraulic fluid.
(b)
Remove the bolts that attach the bypass valve to the housing.
(c)
Carefully lift the bypass valve and the valve motor from the housing.
(d)
Put a cover on the housing.

Install the bypass valve and the bypass valve motor (Fig. 401):
(a)
Apply the hydraulic fluid or the assembly lube to the O-rings.
(b)
Install the five O-rings and the backup rings on the valve.
(c)
Remove the cover from the bypass valve housing.
(d)
Carefully put the valve in the housing.
(e)
Install the bolts that attach the valve to the housing. 1) Tighten the bolts to 30-40 pound-inches. 2) Install the lockwire on the bolts.

Connect the electrical connector to the valve motor.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Disconnect the electrical connector from the bypass valve motor (Fig. 401).

Set the manual override lever on the valve motor to the POSITION 2.

Remove the bypass valve motor:
(a)
Remove the four screws that attach the valve motor to the valve.
