(1)
Remove the outboard aftflap (Ref 27-51-39/401).

Examine the bolt and bushing that attach the bottom flight rollers (Fig. 601):
(a)
Remove the bolt, washer, nut and bushing from the aftflap support fitting.
(b)
Use a micrometer to measure the diameters of the bolt and bushing.
(c)
Compare the dimensions you measured with the permitted dimensions shown in Fig. 601.
(d)
Replace the parts that are not in the tolerance.
(e)
Install the bushing, bolt, washers and nut.
(3)
Install the outboard aftflap (Ref 27-51-39/401).

A. There are two tasks in this procedure. There is a task for the removal and a task for the installation of the outboard midflap carriage. This procedure is applicable to the two carriages on an outboard midflap. It is necessary to remove the midflap to remove a carriage.

Remove a carriage from the outboard midflap:

Remove the bolt that attaches the safety link to the inboard side of the carriage.
(b)
Remove the special bolt that attaches the spherical bearing to the carriage.
