Remove the carriage bearing support: 1) Remove the four bolts on the carriage bearing support to
the midflap. 2) Remove the shims from the carriage bearing support. 3) Measure and make a record of the thickness of the shims at
the carriage bearing supports.
(d) Remove the spindle bearing from the aft end of the carriage:
1) Remove the nut and washers from the aft end of the carriage.

2) Remove the bearing and the bearing inner race from the carriage.
(e) Move the carriage out of the flap.

Remove the spherical bearing if it is necessary:

Remove the bearing retainer from the midflap.
(b)
Remove the spherical bearing.
(c)
Remove the seal if it is loose or damaged.
