 (d)  Tighten the nuts on the inboard and the outboard bolts to 510-840 pound-inches.
 S 434-010
 (3)  
Install a new anti-fret strip on the wing skin at the aft support fitting if it is necessary:

 (a)  
Remove the damaged anti-fret strip and the sealant from the lower surface of the wing.

 (b)  
Apply the primer to the lower surface of the wing.

 (c)  
Let the primer cure.

 (d)  
Make a pressure plate from 0.50 inch minimum luminum alloy plate. 1) Drill three holes in the pressure plate to align with the

 holes in the wing surface.

 (e)  
Use the sealant to bond the anti-fret strip to the lower surface of the wing.

 (f)  
Install the pressure plate with three 7/16-inch diameter bolts.


 NOTE: Tighten the nuts before the work life of the sealant is
____
 expired.

 1) Tighten the nuts to 360-420 pound-inches.
 CAUTION: DO NOT INSTALL THE FLAP TRACK UNTIL THE SEALANT IS CURED.

 THE SEALANT CAN COME OUT OF THE SURFACE.

 (g)  
Let the sealant cure.

 (h)  
Remove the pressure plate.

 (i)  
Apply a bead of the sealant around the anti-fret strip and let the sealant cure.

 (j)  
Remove all of the sealant from the lower surface of the anti-fret strip.

 (4)  
Install a new tapered shim if it is necessary:


 S 434-011
 NOTE: The thickness of the new shim must be the same as the one you
____ removed. The decal on the rear spar, adjacent to the flap track, shows the necessary shim thickness.
 (a)  
Remove the damaged tapered shim and the sealant from the flap track.

 (b)  
Temporarily install the flap track: 1) Align the flap track with the forward support fitting. 2) Install the bolts with the countersunk washers below the


 head.

 3)  Tighten the bolt at the middle position to 900-1100 pound-inches.
 4)  Install the washer and the nut on the inboard and the outboard bolts.
 5)  Tighten the inboard and the outboard nuts to 800-1000 pound-inches.
 6)  Put the flap track in its position on the aft support fitting.
 7)  Temporarily install the spacers, bushings, bolts, and nuts on the aft support fitting.
Do this task to temporarily install the inboard flap: "Inboard
 Flap Installation" (AMM 27-51-04/401).
 NOTE: It is not necessary to use the corrosion preventive
____ compound or the wet primer to temporarily install the flap. Do not adjust the aftflap.
Find the correct shim thickness:
