Turbine Case Cooling (TCC)

M. EICAS Gear Maintenance Display (Fig. 60)
(1)
General
(a)
Gear parameters for brake temperature and brake torque are presented for display.
(b)
All parameters are recieved by the EIU on an ARINC 429 data bus. Brake temperature is received from the Brake Temperature Monitor Unit (BTMU) and brake torque is received from the Brake Sytem Control Unit (BSCU).
(2)
Brake Temperature
(a) Brake temperature is displayed by digital readouts for the left and right wing gear and the left and right body gear. The temperatures are displayed in units which are scaled from zero to nine.
(3)
Brake Torque
(a) Brake torque is displayed in units of ft-lb/1000 for the left and right wing gear, and the left and right body gear. The torque is monitored by the BSCU which reduces the braking pressure if the torque on the landing gear (induced by braking) becomes excessive.

14. IDS Test Display (Fig. 61)
A. General
(1)
The Integrated Display System (IDS) test display provides software part numbers for the IDUs and EIUs, an octal readout of IDU and EIU position pins, hexadecimal readouts of the program pin configuration, raster patches, convergence crosses, and a display of the standard character set.
(2)
The IDS test format reflects the present state of the program pins (rather than the latched state). When the program pin configuration is invalid, the IDS test format will automatically be displayed on all six display units if the airplane is on the ground, the parking brake is set, and all engines are shut down, otherwise, the EIU will shut down. After program pin correction, EIU power recycling is required to clear the latched program pin states and restore the system to normal operation.
(3)
IDS program pins are defined to be invalid for any of the following conditions:
Even program pin parity
Invalid engine type code
Undefined engine model code
Spare enabled
(4)
The IDS test format is normally displayed through the CMCS ground test menu structure. The IDS test format may be presented for display on all six display units by accessing the CMCS ground test menu and then pressing the line select keys located next to the prompts:
<31 INDICATING/WARNING (On CMCS Ground Test Menu page) <IDS (On CMCS Ground Tests page)
B. IDU Position Pins
(1)
Each of the six rack mounted display unit connectors have three pins designated as IDU position pins. These pins are either wired to ground (gnd) or not connected (nc).
(2)
At power up, each DU will read the coded position pins to determine it's primary system function.
(3)
The position pin configuration for each DU is displayed on the IDS test format as an octal readout. Each DU will present one of the following DU function configurations.
