(4) Do an IDS ground test:
(a)
Push the LSK adjacent to <IDS.
1) AIRPLANES WITH CMC SOFTWARE -008; When the TEST PRECONDITIONS page shows, make sure each instruction on the page is completed. (Push the NEXT PAGE key to see the subsequent pages.)
(b)
AIRPLANES WITH CMC SOFTWARE -008;
Push the key adjacent to the START TEST> prompt.
NOTE: The aural warning will sound, the master caution lights
____ will come on and IN PROGRESS will be displayed on the CDU.
(c)
Make sure you hear the aural warning sound.
(d)
Make sure the IN PROGRESS indication is shown above the IDS prompt on the CDU.
(e)
Make sure the captain's and the first officer's master caution lights come on.
(f)
Make sure the six IDUs show the test screen.
(g)
Make sure the IDUs have more than one color.
(h)
Make sure that not too much noise or movement of the characters is seen on the IDUs.
(i)
Make sure the characters do not show signs of distortion.
(j)
Make sure the IDUs do not show signs of burn marks larger than .05 inch across a point.
(k)
When IN PROGRESS goes out of view, look for PASS or FAIL> adjacent to <IDS.
NOTE: If a PASS indication is shown, no failures occurred

during the test.
(l)
Push the captain's or the first officer's master caution light. 1) Make sure the master caution lights go off.
(m)
Push the ENG button on the EICAS display select panel. 1) Make sure the outboard IDUs show the PFD format. 2) Make sure the inboard IDUs show the ND format.

3) Make sure the upper IDU show the EICAS primary engine parameter format. 4) Make sure the lower IDU is blank or shows the EICAS secondary engine parameter format.
(n) If a FAIL> shows: 1) Push the LSK that is adjacent to FAIL> to see the GROUND TEST MSG pages for the failure. 2) Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find all the GROUND TEST MSG pages. 3) Make a list of all CMCS messages, CMCS message numbers, and ATA numbers that show on the GROUND TEST MSG pages.
4) Go to the CMCS Message Index of the Fault Isolation Manual (FIM) to find the corrective action for each CMCS message.

Set the GND TESTS switch on the P461 panel to the NORM position.

Set the EEC MAINT ENG POWER 1, 2, 3, and 4, switches on the overhead maintenance panel, P461, to the NORM position.

Remove electrical power if it is not necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(1) Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7F11, EFIS CONT L
2) 7F16, EFIS CONT R

(2) Prepare the CDU to become the EFIS Control Panel:
(a)
Push the MENU key on the Captain's (First Officer's) CDU. 1) Make sure the CDU shows the MENU page.
(b)
Push the LSK adjacent to EFIS CP SELECT> prompt. 1) Make sure the CDU shows the EFIS CONTROL page.

(3) Do a test of the ND mode select options:
(a) Push the LSK adjacent to APP>. 1) Make sure the ND shows the expanded approach format.
NOTE: If the ND does not show the expanded approach
____ format, push the LSK adjacent to CRT> to show the format.
