1) Make sure the six IDUs show the test screen (Fig. 402).

Adjust the PFD knob and the two ND brightness knobs (inner and outer) to the middle position.
(m)
Adjust the PFD brightness knob clockwise and counterclockwise.
NOTE: The PFD brightness control adjusts the raster and stroke

intensity.
1) Make sure the PFD becomes brighter when you adjust the knob clockwise.
2) Make sure the PFD becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.

Adjust the PFD brightness knob to the middle position.
(o)
Adjust the outer ND brightness knob clockwise and counterclockwise.
NOTE: The outer knob of the ND brightness control adjusts the
____ stroke intensity. The inner knob of the ND brightness control adjusts the raster intensity.
1) Make sure the ND becomes brighter when you adjust the outer knob clockwise.
2) Make sure the ND becomes dimmer when you adjust the outer knob counterclockwise.
(p) Adjust the outer ND brightness knob to the middle position.

Set the ND mode selector switch on the captain's EFIS control panel to the MAP position.
(r)
Push the WXR switch on the captain's EFIS control panel to the ON position.
(s)
Set the mode selector switch on the control panel for the weather radar to the TEST position.
CAUTION: WHEN THE WEATHER RADAR TRANSMITS RF ENERGY, MAKE SURE
_______ THERE ARE NO LARGE METAL OBJECTS IN AN AREA 300 FEET OR LESS AND IN A 180-DEGREE SECTOR IN FRONT OF THE AIRPLANE. IF LARGE METAL OBJECTS ARE IN THIS AREA WITH THESE CONDITIONS, DAMAGE TO THE WEATHER RADAR RECEIVER CAN OCCUR.
(t)
Adjust the inner INBD CRT control knob clockwise and counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the inboard IDU raster becomes brighter when you
adjust the knob clockwise. 2) Make sure the inboard IDU raster becomes dimmer when you adjust the knob counterclockwise.
(u)
Adjust the inner INBD CRT control knob to the middle position.
(v)
Push the WXR switch on the captain's EFIS control panel to the OFF position.

(6) Return the airplane to its usual condition:
(a)
Set the GND TESTS switch on the P461 panel to the NORM position.
(b)
Remove electrical power, if it is not necessary
(AMM 24-22-00/201).
