The CAPT's display transfer module is located on the P1-3 panel. The F/O's display transfer module is located on the P3-3 panel. Each display transfer module has two switches, the INBD CRT (inboard CRT) switch and the LWR CRT (lower CRT) switch.

 (a)  
The INBD CRT switch is used to manually select the display format on the inboard integrated display unit. When the switch is in EICAS position, the EICAS format is displayed on the inboard integrated display unit. When the switch is in NORM position, the ND format is displayed. When the switch is in PFD position, the PFD format is displayed.

 (b)  
The LWR CRT switch is used to manually select the display format on the lower integrated display unit. When the switch is in the EICAS PRI position, the EICAS primary format is displayed on the lower integrated display unit. When the switch is in NORM position, the EICAS secondary format is displayed. When the switch is in the ND position, the ND format is displayed.

 


 G.  Source Select Module (Fig. 1)
 (1)  Two source select modules permit the pilots to independently select the left, center, or right data input source for their onside EFIS displays. The CAPT's source select module is located on the P1-1 panel, and the F/O's source select module is located on the P3-1 panel.

 (2)  Each module consists of five switches. Each switch activates switching by sending open/ground discrete outputs to the EIU or display unit. The module has the following switches:
 (a)  
FLT DIR switch (Fig. 21)

 (b)  
NAV switch (Fig. 24)

 (c)  
EIU switch (Fig. 5)

 (d)  
IRS switch (Fig. 19)

 (e)  
AIR DATA switch (Fig. 20)


 H. Remote Light Sensor (Fig. 1)
 (1)  
Two remote light sensors, mounted on the glareshield, are used in the automatic contrast control circuits of the integrated display units. Both sensors face forward so that they measure the ambient light coming through the windshield.

 (2)  
The left remote light sensor receives +24 and -5 VDC from the CAPT's EFIS control panel; the right remote light sensor receives +24 and -5 VDC from the F/O's EFIS control panel. Each sensor produces a DC voltage proportional to the light coming through the windshield. The CAPT's PFD, ND, and the main and auxiliary EICAS receive inputs from the left sensor. The F/O's PFD and ND receive inputs from the right sensor. These inputs are applied to the automatic contrast control circuit in the display units. (Fig. 8)


 I. Airborne Data Loader and Control Panel (Fig. 1)
 (1)  
There are several software dependent systems that require periodic software upgrades due to modifications, additional function capabilities, and new airframe/engine configurations. These software upgrades are accomplished through the use of an airborne data loader.

 (2)  
The airborne data loader and associated control panel are located in the bookshelf behind the first officer. The control panel has a selector switch, which enables the selection of the system to be upgraded. (Fig. 9)
