(b) The discrete signals are routed to discrete input interfaces. The information is then applied to analog to digital converters. These digital discretes and any ARINC 429 inputs are sent to the EIUs by an ARINC 429 transmitter.
B. Reset and Power Up BITE
(1)
When power is first applied, each power supply provides reset pulses to each card.

(a) A power up BITE tests the card circuitry except for the output drivers and input receivers.
(3)
Full BITE
(a)
The proximity switch electronic unit (PSEU) provides air/ground status information. The air data computers (ADCs) provide airspeed information. A full BITE is enabled only if these three conditions are sent to the master monitor cards: 1) Air/Gnd = Gnd 2) Landing gear is down and locked 3) Airspeed = 0
(b)
A discrete is sent from both master monitor cards to other MAWEA cards so that they can perform their own full BITE.
(c)
During a full BITE both the red and yellow LEDs turn on to assure proper operation of the LEDs. If no fault is detected, the LEDs will go out after approximately 20 seconds. If a fault is detected, the appropriate LED will remain on.
(d)
A full BITE tests the cards circuitry including the output drivers and input receivers.
(4)
If an internal fault is detected, the red CARD FAULT LED will turn on. If an input fault is detected, the yellow INTERFACE FAULT LED will turn on. If both an internal and an input fault is detected, then only the red CARD FAULT LED turns on.
