INTEGRATED DISPLAY SYSTEM - INSPECTION/CHECK

1. General_______
A. The Integrated Display System (IDS) has two parts. The Electronic Flight Instrument System (EFIS) and the Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System (EICAS). The EFIS supplies displays for attitude and navigation data. The EICAS supplies displays for crew alert and status messages, engine parameters, synoptic displays, and maintenance pages.
B. This subject has two tasks. The first task is a system test of the EIU switch, found on the source select module. The second task is a system test of the captain's (first officer's) display transfer module.

C. Prepare For Test

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

(2)
Prepare the integrated display system (IDS) to do the system test:
(a)
Set the INBD CRT and LWR CRT switches on the captain's display transfer module to the NORM position.
(b)
Set the INBD CRT and LWR CRT switches on the first officer's display transfer module to the NORM position.
(c)
Set the EIU switch on the captain's source select module to the AUTO position.
(d)
Set the EIU switch on the first officer's source select module to the AUTO position.
(e)
Make sure the captain's and the first officer's outboard IDUs show the PFD format.
(f)
Make sure the captain's and the first officer's inboard IDUs show the ND format.
(g)
Make sure the upper IDU shows the EICAS primary engine parameter format.
(h)
Make sure the lower IDU shows the EICAS secondary engine parameter format.

Set the EIU switch to the R position.

(2)
Open this circuit breaker:
(a)
P7, Overhead circuit breaker panel
1) 7F15, EIU R
(b)
Make sure the outboard and the inboard IDUs go out of view.
S 866-004
(3) Set the EIU switch to the C position.
(a) Make sure the outboard and the inboard IDUs show the PFD and the ND format.

(4) Open this circuit breaker:
(a)
P7, Overhead circuit breaker panel
1) 7F10, EIU C
(b)
Make sure the outboard and the inboard IDUs go out of view.

(5) Set the EIU switch to the L position.
(a) Make sure the outboard and the inboard IDUs show the PFD and the ND format.

Open this circuit breaker:
(a)
P7, Overhead circuit breaker panel
1) 7F9, EIU L
(b)
Make sure that all of the IDUs go out of view.
(7)
Set the EIU switch to the AUTO position.
