3. System Test - Integrated Display System_______________________________________
A. General
(1)
The system test is necessary to do a full check of the integrated display system. The test makes sure that the system operates satisfactorily. The system test includes these tests:
(a)
EICAS Control Panel/FMC Switch Test
(b)
EICAS Display Select Panel Test
(c)
Captain's (First Officer's) Display Transfer Module Test
(d)
Captain's (First Officer's) EFIS Control Panel Test
(e)
Captain's (First Officer's) Source Select Module Test
(f)
Lighting Control Panel Test
(g)
IDS Local and Remote Light Sensor Test
(h)
IDU Test
(i)
Alternate EFIS Control Panel
(j)
Alternate EICAS Display Select Panel
(k)
Program Pin & Software P/N Verification

You can do the tests in sequence or one at a time. The prepare for test procedure must be done before each test or each sequence of tests.
(3)
There are no test given for each EIU. The EIUs are in test when you do the tests above. To do a test on one EIU set the EIU and the EIU SEL switches to the position of the EIU in test. The EIU switches are found on the source select modules. The EIU SEL switch is found on the EICAS control panel/FMC switch. Do one or all of the above test to do an EIU check.

Central Maintenance Computer System (CMCS), serviceable (AMM 45-10-00/501).
(c)
Weather Radar System, serviceable (AMM 34-43-00/501).
(d)
Inertial Reference System (IRS), serviceable
(AMM 34-21-00/501).
(e)
Air Data Systems, serviceable. (AMM 34-12-00/501).
(f)
Airplane must be in the ground mode (AMM 32-09-02/201).
G. Prepare For Test

(1) Prepare the integrated display system (IDS) to do the system test:
(a)
Set the INBD CRT and LWR CRT switches on the captain's display transfer module to the NORM position.
(b)
Set the INBD CRT and LWR CRT switches on the first officer's display transfer module to the NORM position.
(c)
Set the EIU SEL switch on the EICAS control panel/FMC switch to the AUTO position.
(d)
Set the EIU switch on the captain's source select module to the AUTO position.
(e)
Set the EIU switch on the first officer's source select module to the AUTO position.
(f)
Make sure the captain's and the first officer's outboard IDUs show the PFD format.
