CAUTION: PUSH THE HANDLE TIGHTLY AGAINST THE FRONT OF THE IDU, TO
_______ PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE HINGED MOUNTING ASSEMBLY OR SCREWS, WHEN THE SCREWS ARE TIGHTENED.
(i)
With the IDU's handle securely held against the top of the IDU, tighten both of the fastening screws.
(j)
Put the control column back to its correct position, if it is necessary.

(4) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close the circuit breaker for the IDU that you install:
(a) P7, Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel
1) 7F8, UPR EICAS
2) 7F12, ND L
3) 7F13, PFD L
4) 7F14, LWR EICAS
5) 7F17, ND R
6) 7F18, PFD R

(5) Supply electrical power, if it is necessary (AMM 24-22-00/201).

CAUTION: MAKE SURE YOU KNOW THE CORRECT IDS SOFTWARE PART NUMBER FOR THE
_______ IDU. FOR THE IDU TO BE AN APPROVED INSTALLATION, THE CORRECT SOFTWARE PART NUMBER MUST BE INSTALLED.
(6) Make sure the IDU has the correct software installed:
(a)
Stop a minimum of 20 seconds to let the IDUs to warm-up.
(b)
Set the INBD CRT and LWR CRT switches on the two display transfer modules to the NORM position.
(c)
Set the EIU SEL switch on the EICAS control panel/FMC switch to the AUTO position.

(d)
Set the EIU switch on the two source select modules to the AUTO position.
(e)
Set the GND TESTS switch on the overhead maintenance panel, P461, to the ENABLE position.

(7) Prepare the CDU for the test:
(a)
Push the MENU key on the CDU to show the MENU.
(b)
Push the line select key (LSK) that is adjacent to <CMC to show the CMC MENU.
(c)
If <RETURN shows after you push the LSK, push the LSK that is adjacent to <RETURN until you see the CMC MENU.
(d)
Push the LSK that is adjacent to <GROUND TESTS to show the GROUND TESTS menu.
(e)
Push the NEXT PAGE key until you find <31 INDICATING/WARNING.
(f)
Push the LSK key adjacent to <31 INDICATING/WARNING to show the GROUND TESTS menu for the integrated display system.
NOTE: If INHIBITED shows above <IDS, the test will not

operate.

(8) Do an IDS system ground test:
(a)
Push the LSK adjacent to <IDS.
1) When the TEST PRECONDITIONS page shows, make sure each instruction on the page is completed. (Push the NEXT PAGE key to see the subsequent pages.)
(b)
Push the key adjacent to START TEST>.
NOTE: The aural warning will sound, the master caution lights
____ will come on and IN PROGRESS will be displayed on the CDU.

Make sure the six IDUs show the test screen.
(d)
Make sure all the IDUs show the same IDU software part number.
