(b)
The EPR maximum values indicate the maximum thrust limit which is dependent upon atmospheric temperature, pressure and altitude. The IDS receives EPR maximum from the EECs. If EEC EPR maximum is invalid, FMC EPR maximum is used as an alternate source.
(7)
EPR Reference/Target
(a)
A horizontal bar is placed across each EPR thermometer to indicate the FMC generated thrust management system target or reference. The FMC EPR target is indicated by a magenta colored bar and the reference by a green colored bar.
(b)
The EPR reference is a set thrust limit value which is dependent upon the FMC flight mode, including derates and bump.
(c)
The EPR target is a thrust limit value calculated by the FMC's Vertical Navigation (VNAV) function for performance purposes. The calculated values are sent to the thrust management function of the FMC for thrust limit control. These values are used while in VNAV mode and are calculated for the purpose of optimized airplane performance.
(8)
EPR Command
(a)
A white colored horizontal bar is placed across each EPR thermometer to indicate the commanded EPR value. These horizontal bars are displayed to aid the crew in obtaining the desired thrust.
(b)
The IDS receives EPR command from the EECs. If EEC EPR command is invalid, EEC EPR actual is used as an alternate source.

N1 Actual
(a) The N1 values are received from the EECs and analog sensors within the engines. N1 is indicated by digital readouts (enclosed in boxes) and analog thermometers. The readout, box and thermometer will change from white to red in color as the N1 redline limit is exceeded.
(10)
Nacelle Anti-Ice (NAI)
(a) A green colored NAI message will be displayed adjacent to the respective engine N1 thermometer when the engines thermal anti-ice switch/valve is on/open.
(11)
Wing Anti-Ice (WAI)
(a) A green colored WAI message will be displayed between the left and right engine N1 thermometers when the L,R wing thermal anti-ice valve is open.
(12)
EGT Actual
(a) The Exhaust Gas Temperature (EGT) values are received from the EECs. EGT is indicated by digital readouts (enclosed in boxes) and analog thermometers. The readout, box and thermometer will change from white to amber and red in color as the respective amber band and redline limits are exceeded.
(13)
Engine Start Limit
(a) During engine start conditions, an engine start limit is displayed by a red colored horizontal bar placed across each EGT analog thermometer. If this limit is exceeded during an engine start, the EGT readout, box and thermometer will change from white to red in color. For a normal engine start, the EGT start limit is removed once the engine reaches idle.
(14)
Secondary Engine Data Cue
(a) The cue is displayed while any secondary engine parameter exceedance exists (N2, oil pressure, oil temperature, oil quantity, engine vibration).
(15)
EICAS Messages
(a) Four types of messages are displayed in the following priority order: warning (red), caution (amber), advisory (amber-indented) and memo (white).

A maximum of 11 messages can be displayed at one time. Warning and memo messages cannot be removed from the display, however, caution and advisory messages may be paged. If more than 11 messages exist, a white colored page number message will appear below the message list. This page number message indicates that there are caution and advisory messages which exist but have not been displayed. These non-displayed messages may be viewed by pressing the CANC switch on the EICAS DSP. Multiple cancel operations may be required to page through the existing caution and advisory messages. The RCL switch on the EICAS DSP enables the crew to display the caution and advisory messages which were previously cancelled but are still valid. While the RCL switch is pressed, the message RECALL will appear below the message list.
